23-year-old Gujarat-based model Anjali Varmora was found dead in her Surat home on June 7, 2025. Police confirmed she died by suicide, but no note was found. She had reportedly been dealing with prolonged mental stress, though the investigation is still ongoing.
Anjali lived with her mother and siblings in the Navsari Bazar area and was known for posting heartfelt messages about her late father. She also shared lifestyle reels and vlogs regularly on social media.
A day before her death, she posted a cryptic Instagram reel that read: “Today I realised I am nothing for you.” In another post, she added, “It doesn’t matter if everything is lost, but it hurts if love is lost.”
Investigators are now looking into her phone and questioning her family to uncover more about her state of mind. Anjali was previously engaged, and her wedding was postponed after her fiancé’s mother passed away. It’s unclear if the delay or any personal issues contributed to her emotional struggles.
This tragedy follows a similar case in Surat just weeks ago, when 19-year-old model Sukhpreet Kaur died by suicide after alleged harassment. The back-to-back incidents have reignited public concern over the mental health struggles of young women in the modeling industry.
